Selective bioinsecticide based on Baculovirus for the control of codling moth
CARPOSTOP is a biological insecticide, based on Cydia Pomonella Granulovirus (CpGV). Being an extremely specific Baculovirus, it is able to reproduce itself exclusively at the expense of codling moth (Cydia Pomonella). CARPOSTOP acts only on larvae and works exclusively by ingestion. After ingestion, larvae start to show a reduction of trophic and motor activity, becoming more exposed to bacterial and fungal diseases. Lastly, they stop eating and die within 3-5 days. CARPOSTOP perfectly suits with integrated pest management and organic agriculture programs for authorised crops.

Baculovirus (CpGV): 2×10¹² Granulovirus GV (= 2×10¹³ GV/l)
Adjuvants q.s. to g 100
Warning: Handle with caution
PRE-HARVEST INTERVAL (PHI):
3 days on all crops
500 ml bottle – Boxes of 10 pieces
MODES AND FIELDS OF APPLICATION:
CARPOSTOP is used to control codling moth (Cydia Pomonella) on the following crops: Apple, Pear, Quince, Walnut, Nashy.
For treatments with standard volumes: 30-50 ml/100 lt (max 750 ml/ha, 1.5×10¹³ GV/ha), in any case not less than 500 ml/ha (10¹³ GV/ha). Act against the first generation of Cydia Pomonella, when the first eggs begin to hatch. In order to identify the right time for the first application, it is important to follow the local competent authorities’ recommendations. As an alternative, monitor the egg masses and/or use the method of Degree-Day Accumulation (Growing Degree Days), which can indicate both the beginning of egg laying and the hatching of the first larvae. Repeat the treatment 1 or 2 times every 7-10 days, in relation to the luminous intensity and to the insect flight. CARPOSTOP can be used also against subsequent generations up to a maximum of 3 applications per generation, adopting integrated strategies for the containment of populations (which involve other active substances) and reducing the intervals between treatments.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE:
Avoid to use water with pH higher than 7.5; otherwise, acidify the solution to ensure an optimal pH value of 6/6.5, by using authorised specific products.
Because of its specificity, the product is selective on adults and larvae of beneficial insects, predators and parasitoids.
CARPOSTOP cannot be mixed with products based on Copper nor with products that have alkaline reaction (Bordeaux mixture, polysulphides, etc.).
Store CARPOSTOP in a common refrigerator at +4/5°C: it remains stable for at least 1 year.
At room temperature, it keeps its stability for approx. 4 months.
If stored into a freezer (-20°C): more than 6 years.
Before using the product, carefully read all the instructions on the packaging label.
