Trap for the capture of Drosophila suzukii
CHARACTERISTICS
Trap for the monitoring and mass trapping of Drosophila suzukii, the spotted wing fruit fly. It consists of a cup container, a perforated lid and a hook to hang the trap. It should be baited with approximately 100 ml of the specific Sugarfly attractant, based on apple cider vinegar, red wine, sugar and natural flavors, to be poured into the cup.
FIELDS OF APPLICATION
Monitoring and mass trapping of Drosophila suzukii. Monitoring: at intervals of 5-10 m from each other at the edges of the cultivated area and, if present, at the borders with nearby woods and shrubs. Mass trapping: after capturing the first individual, create a belt of traps around the area by placing one trap every 2 meters along the perimeter. For fruit trees: 1-3 traps per tree at a height of approximately 1.5-2 meters, alternating them in height, preferably on the North East side.
